Goa, Oct. 27 -- Congress MLA Carlos Alvares Ferreira has raised serious questions over a water sports event held at Caranzalem beach in Goa on Monday morning, allegedly without the necessary permissions or clearances.

Calling the incident "shocking," Ferreira questioned how such an activity could be conducted on government land without due authorisation and accused authorities of failing to enforce basic regulatory procedures.

In a strongly worded statement, Ferreira alleged a failure on the part of the Police CID to monitor illegal activities. "Are they busy only snooping on members in the Opposition?" he asked, criticising what he described as selective enforcement of the law.
