Goa, Oct. 21 -- The Shri Devi Shantadurga Temple in Calangute came alive on Monday evening as hundreds of devotees gathered to celebrate a grand Diwali Deepotsav, with over 5,000 traditional oil lamps illuminating the temple premises.

Organised jointly by Calangute United Boys and the Shri Devi Shantadurga Sansthan, the event began at 6:30 pm with the ceremonial lighting of lamps. A special appeal was made for women devotees to participate in the ritual, upholding a cherished cultural tradition.

Prasad Shirodkar, mentor of Calangute United Boys, and Pandurang Matkar, President of the Shantadurga Temple Committee, were present to oversee the celebrations.
