Goa, Aug. 24 -- Despite heavy rains in recent days, several parts of Borim have been facing water shortages for over a week, leaving residents anxious about managing Ganesh Chaturthi preparations.

Locals from Kripa Nagar and Shirshirem said they require more water during the festive season for cleaning homes and preparing sweets such as nevreo. "Women are busy with Chaturthi preparations, but also have to spend time fetching water," one resident complained.

Following complaints, the Public Works Department (PWD) has supplied water through tankers. However, locals urged authorities to find a permanent solution before the festival.
