Goa, May 29 -- Quepem MLA Altone D'Costa has demanded strict legal action against tourists involved in fatal road accidents caused by reckless driving, stating that such offenders should be booked for murder.

Reacting to the recent fatal accident in Siolim involving a Thar allegedly driven by a tourist, D'Costa said the incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need to crack down on dangerous driving and illegal rent-a-car operations in Goa.

The MLA said that after similar incidents reported in South Goa, the latest tragedy in North Goa highlights the growing threat posed by reckless tourist drivers on Goan roads.
