Goa, May 1 -- In a dramatic turn in a death case in Cunchelim, police intervened just minutes before the last rites of 63-year-old Subhash Naik and took custody of the body for postmortem. Naik was reportedly admitted to Goa Medical College after being found unconscious with a head injury and later died during treatment. As funeral preparations were underway, police halted the rites to ascertain the exact cause of death. The body has been sent for examination, while further investigation continues. The bar owner and a cook he last visited have been arrested.
