Goa, Aug. 10 -- Bicholim Police have solved a chain-snatching case that had remained open for nearly a year, arresting two suspects and recovering stolen gold ornaments valued at Rs.2.2 lakh.

The accused, Abbas Aslam Jaidi (34) and Sharif Shaha Samsher (35), both residents of Maharashtra, were taken into custody on a body warrant obtained from Old Goa Police. During interrogation, the duo admitted to their involvement in the crime.

The stolen items, which included a 40-gram gold mangalsutra, were traced to Pune, where the suspects had taken them.

The incident took place on December 5, 2024, at Bhamai Pale, Bicholim. Two men on a black motorcycle had targeted a woman, snatching her jewellery before fleeing.
