Goa, Oct. 4 -- Bicholim police have arrested Rupesh Naik, 40, of Dhakul Maina, Sanquelim, and Aniket Navelkar, 28, for allegedly assaulting a sailor aboard the ferry boat Chandor, which operates between the Volvoi and Surla ferry terminals.

The attack left the sailor critically injured. He was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) in Bambolim, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Police officials confirmed that the arrests were made following a detailed investigation into the assault. Further details regarding the circumstances of the attack and the investigation are awaited.
