Goa, Oct. 25 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert that a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by the morning of October 27.

As the Northeast monsoon season remains active, Tamil Nadu is likely to experience rainfall over the next two to three days due to the developing system.

According to the IMD, the low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal is currently moving slowly west-northwest and has remained nearly stationary over the same region.
