PANAJI, Sept. 25 -- Bank employees across the country are set to observe a three-day nationwide strike from September 28 to 30, 2026, according to United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) Goa Convenor Santosh Haldankar.

Haldankar said the unions are demanding the immediate implementation of a five-day banking week and the withdrawal of the Performance-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.

According to Haldankar, the proposal for a five-day banking week was agreed upon and formally signed on March 8, 2024, but its implementation has remained pending for more than two years.
