MARGAO: Maharashtra's Badole Shaunak and Telangana's WCM Deekshitha Modipalli maintained their supremacy in the 38th National Under-13 Chess Championship, both leading their respective sections with 9 points after 10 rounds.
Shaunak (2086) defeated CM Vyom Malhotra of Haryana on the top board using the Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack. Karnataka's top seed Siddhanth Poonja (2215) beat Siddhant Salunke of Maharashtra, while Delhi's Shaurya Chaudhary stunned CM Advik Agrawal in the Caro-Kann Defence. Among the Goans, Joshua Mark Telles (1793) impressed with a win over Kushagra Paliwal, while Maxwell Raposo also scored.
