Goa, June 19 -- Authorities have dismissed viral social media claims regarding the collapse of the Salaulim Dam, clarifying that the reports are false and misleading.

Officials explained that the concern arose due to a temporary 12-hour shutdown necessitated by a technical issue affecting one of the pump sets under the JICA project. They stressed that the incident was limited to equipment maintenance and had no connection to the structural integrity of the dam.

Assistant Engineer Naresh Hede confirmed that two pump sets are functioning normally and that the water supply to Vasco and surrounding areas has remained uninterrupted despite the temporary technical snag.
