Goa, July 7 -- A portion of a house at Dhakutolem in Assolda collapsed following prolonged water accumulation around the structure, causing extensive damage to the property and raising concerns over the safety of nearby homes.

House owner Xavier Fernandes alleged that he had repeatedly approached the local panchayat and Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral over the past three years, seeking the construction of a proper drainage gutter to channel rainwater away from the area. Despite submitting several complaints, he claimed no action was taken.

According to local residents, persistent waterlogging weakened the foundation of the house, ultimately leading to the collapse of its middle section.
