Goa, Oct. 6 -- An app-based taxi driver in Candolim was reportedly assaulted by a group of youths after a minor road-side mishap, sources confirmed. Authorities said the incident was not linked to local taxi operators.

The altercation began when the driver opened his car door, narrowly missing the passing youths on bicycles. The minor confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight, during which the driver sustained facial injuries and activated his panic button.

Although no formal police complaint has been filed yet, a bystander captured the entire incident on mobile video, which is currently being reviewed by local authorities.
