Goa, July 20 -- Andy Burnham was officially sworn in as the United Kingdom's new Prime Minister on Monday after meeting King Charles III at Buckingham Palace, succeeding Keir Starmer and becoming Britain's seventh prime minister in just over a decade. The Labour Party leader assumed office without a general election after winning the party leadership unopposed following Starmer's resignation.
