Goa, Oct. 7 -- The All India Lawyers Union (AILU) on Monday strongly condemned the shocking incident in which a shoe was hurled at Chief Justice of India, B.R. Gavai, during proceedings at the Supreme Court. The act, which took place on the morning of October 7, 2025, occurred as the Chief Justice began hearing the first matter of the day.
Eyewitnesses reported that an elderly man shouted slogans stating, "India won't tolerate Sanadan's insults," before throwing the shoe toward the Bench. The projectile did not hit the Chief Justice, who remained calm and reportedly remarked, "I am the last person to be affected by such things. Please continue."
