Goa, June 28 -- A Goan man living in the United Kingdom is being widely praised for his bravery after reportedly playing a key role in rescuing a child from drowning at Coate Water Country Park in Swindon.

Rezetine Gomes, originally from Agacaim in Goa and now residing in Swindon, has been publicly recognised for his courageous actions during the emergency, which unfolded on Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, the child wandered away while visiting Coate Water's popular splash park with family members before falling into the lake. As panic spread among relatives and bystanders, several members of the public immediately joined the search and rescue effort.
