Goa, April 25 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has said it will approach Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan seeking the disqualification of seven of its MPs who announced a merger with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
The move follows former AAP Rajya Sabha deputy leader Raghav Chadha disclosing that about two‑thirds of the party's Upper House members had decided to merge with the BJP, arguing that the merger falls under constitutional provisions.
AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the party will write to the Rajya Sabha Chairman, contending that the lawmakers have voluntarily relinquished AAP membership and must be disqualified under the anti‑defection law's Tenth Schedule.
