India, Feb. 8 -- Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda accused the Haryana government of stopping the diet allowance of nearly 37,000 athletes training in state-run sports nurseries for the past 10 months. Addressing the media, Dhanda said the allowances were meant to ensure proper nutrition for grassroots players preparing for national and international competitions, but the prolonged delay has placed many athletes under financial stress.

He further alleged that several coaches working in the sports nurseries had also not received their salaries during the same period. Questioning the government's priorities, Dhanda asked whether young athletes should focus on arranging daily meals or concentrate on their sporting careers. ...
