Goa, July 13 -- A 92-year-old retired Indian Army officer has alleged that his agricultural land in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district was fraudulently mortgaged, transferred and sold without his knowledge using forged documents and an impersonator.

Following a complaint lodged by Captain Chunnilal, police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the alleged land fraud.

Captain Chunnilal, a decorated Army veteran who served in the 1962 India-China War and the 1965 and 1971 Indo-Pak wars, claimed that the land allotted to his family under the rehabilitation scheme for people displaced by the Pong Dam project in Himachal Pradesh was illegally transferred and sold despite him retaining the original ownership documents.
