India, March 5 -- A 64-year-old man was found dead in a well next to his house at Cavelossim, with locals suspecting foul play.

The deceased has been identified as Teofilo Cardozo, a resident of Patrecantem in Cavelossim. According to sources, the body was discovered in a well located beside his house, with a rope reportedly tied near the spot.

Residents in the area raised suspicions of possible murder following the discovery and alerted the authorities.

Police from Colva Police Station arrived at the scene and have registered a case of unnatural death. Further investigation is currently underway to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
