Goa, Aug. 15 -- India has entered a historic chapter in its Test cricket journey as the men's team is currently playing its 600th Test match against Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium. The landmark game began on Saturday, August 15, 2026, 94 years after India made its Test debut against England at Lord's on June 25, 1932. India won the toss and opted to bat first in the historic 600th Test.

India's journey through Test cricket has included dramatic defeats, memorable victories, legendary captains and generations of outstanding players. A total of 319 players have represented India in Tests so far, with Sachin Tendulkar holding the record for most appearances with 200 matches.
