Goa, June 20 -- Minister Vishwajit Rane has said the Goa government will officially communicate its decision to convert 554 survey numbers into No Development Zones (NDZ) to the Supreme Court and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Rane stated that the Supreme Court had earlier stayed the removal of private forest areas. He said the same survey numbers have now been brought under NDZ protection and will remain untouched. The minister added that paddy fields and salt pans have also been included under NDZ, maintaining that no new legislation is required for the decision.
