Kankumbi, Sept. 11 -- Excise officials seized around 400 litres of liquor spirit during a check at the Kankumbi checkpost on the Goa-Karnataka route.

According to officials, the liquor spirit was concealed in cans and bottles inside a specially created partition of a BharatBenz six-wheeler, apparently in an attempt to evade detection.

The vehicle and the seized liquor were collectively valued at approximately Rs.10.40 lakh.

Two persons have been booked in connection with the seizure under relevant provisions of the Karnataka Excise Act. Further investigation is underway.
