India, March 22 -- A 23-year-old doctor allegedly died by suicide on Friday evening in Hyderabad's Alwal following repeated disagreements with her family over her decision to adopt a cat. The victim, identified as T Princy, also known as Shreshtha, was alone at home when the incident occurred.

Princy lived with her mother, Kusumalatha, and grandmother. A few weeks ago, she brought a cat home, after which she developed a persistent cold and cough. The family reportedly opposed her decision to keep the pet, leading to frequent arguments.
