Goa, July 16 -- A 22-year-old fourth-year law student died on Tuesday evening after battling for her life for more than 48 hours following a brutal stabbing allegedly carried out by the brother of a man whose marriage proposal she had rejected. The incident occurred on July 13 in Bengaluru's Kodihalli area on HAL Road, prompting police to arrest two brothers in connection with the case.

The victim, identified as Amrutha, was attacked around 4.30 pm on Sunday and was immediately rushed to hospital, where doctors fought to save her. Despite intensive treatment, she succumbed to her injuries on July 15.
