Goa, Aug. 18 -- A 20-year-old woman from Gadag, Karnataka, was apprehended by Calangute Police for allegedly stealing a gold chain worth around Rs.1.5 lakh from a residence in Khobrawado, Calangute.

The incident came to light when the homeowner reported the theft of a 16-gram gold chain from their house. Following the complaint, a formal case was registered, and investigations were promptly launched.

Using intelligence inputs and field surveillance, the police tracked down the suspect, a Gadag native, within a short period. She was taken into custody and questioned regarding the incident. During interrogation, the woman reportedly confessed to committing the theft.
