Goa, May 20 -- A 17-year-old girl was found dead in her bedroom at her residence in Nachinola, prompting the Mapusa Police to register a case of suspected unnatural death.

According to police sources, the family alerted authorities after finding the teenager unresponsive inside the house. Police personnel later reached the spot and initiated preliminary inquiries into the incident.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, while further investigation is currently underway.

Police are examining all possible angles as part of the ongoing probe.
