Goa, Aug. 15 -- The Supreme Court has questioned the Centre over the delay in introducing visual warning labels on pre-packaged food products, stressing the importance of clear information for consumers and public health.

A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and K Vinod Chandran was hearing a plea filed by public charitable trust 3S and Our Health Society seeking action on front-of-package labelling (FOPL). The court asked the Centre to decide on the visual appearance of such labels within two weeks.
