India, March 8 -- Narendra Modi on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress over the controversy surrounding the visit of Droupadi Murmu to West Bengal. Speaking at an event in Delhi's Burari on International Women's Day, the Prime Minister alleged that the ruling party in the state had insulted the country's President.

Modi said that the alleged incident not only disrespected the President but also hurt the dignity of women and tribal communities. "Today, when the country is celebrating Women's Day, the Trinamool Congress insulted the country's President and tried to sabotage a major programme meant for tribal people," he said.
