'Grateful to be alive but..' Air India crash survivor opens up on year-long struggle
Goa, June 12 -- One year after surviving the devastating Air India Flight 171 crash, Viswashkumar Ramesh has spoken about the lasting impact the tragedy has had on his life. The London-bound flight crashed shortly after take-off from Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025, killing 260 people. Ramesh was the sole survivor of the accident.
Images of the 39-year-old walking away from the wreckage with visible injuries quickly spread around the world, symbolising a miraculous escape. However, Ramesh says surviving the crash was only the beginning of a much tougher journey.
