Goa, May 25 -- Vijay Sardesai has pushed back on Rajendra Arlekar's remarks about educational qualifications in politics, saying the Governor's statement "applies to the BJP." He argued that education brings vision and matters in public life and governance, while pointing out that even basic civil-service jobs require qualifications and training, but politics has no such entry barrier.

Arlekar had raised the issue at the National Youth Parliament Goa 2026, questioning why politics does not have a minimum education requirement. Sardesai's response turns that comment into a political jab at the BJP and frames education as a governance issue, not just a campaign talking point.
