India, June 15 -- National health indicators in Cameroon have shown significant long term improvement since 1960, with both genders seeing substantial gains in longevity.
Steady Gains in Longevity
* In 1960, female life expectancy was recorded at 41.69 years, while male expectancy was 29.44 years.
* By 1980, these figures climbed to 52.27 for women and 49.40 for men.
* Significant progress continued through the turn of the century, with women reaching 54.52 and men reaching 52.13 by the year 2000.
Modern Health Milestones
* Female life expectancy officially surpassed the sixty year mark in 2013, reaching 60.49 years.
