India, June 4 -- Life expectancy in Burkina Faso has shown a sustained upward trajectory over the past six decades, reaching 61.09 years in 2023, according to historical life expectancy data.

Steady Gains Since 1960 The country's life expectancy stood at 36.07 years in 1960. Over the following decades, the indicator recorded consistent growth, reflecting a gradual improvement in longevity. By 1970, life expectancy had risen to 39.54 years and crossed 46 years by 1980.

Progress Accelerates in Later Decades The upward trend continued through the 1990s and 2000s. Life expectancy increased from 49.32 years in 1990 to 50.81 years in 2000. The figure reached 56.34 years in 2010, marking a notable improvement compared with earlier decades.
