India, June 4 -- Bahrain's mortality rate has declined significantly over the past six decades, with deaths per 1,000 people falling to 2.09 in 2023 from more than 16 per 1,000 in 1960, according to the latest available data.
Long-Term Decline in Mortality
The death rate stood at 16.281 deaths per 1,000 people in 1960. The figure fell steadily through the following decades, dropping below 10 per 1,000 by the early 1970s and continuing on a downward trajectory thereafter.
* The rate decreased from 16.281 in 1960 to 11.920 in 1964.
* By 1980, the figure had fallen to 4.257 deaths per 1,000 people.
