Dehradun, 22 May: Police in Rishikesh have arrested two accused in connection with the assault on tourists at Kale Ki Dhal under Operation Prahar. The incident had occurred on 20 May when Satveer, son of Deva Singh from village Buchchi in Kaithal district of Haryana, had lodged a written complaint at Kotwali Rishikesh stating that he had come to Rishikesh with his companions in a Hyundai Venue car bearing registration number HR-08-AL-9393. During their visit, a misunderstanding with a woman near Kale Ki Dhal led to a crowd gathering, after which some people reportedly assaulted the complainant and his companions, causing injuries to them and major damage to their vehicle.
