Dehradun, 6 Oct: Uttarakhand has set a target of becoming a 100% literate state within the next six months. A comprehensive campaign will be undertaken across the state to achieve this objective. A roadmap has also been prepared to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education to 50% by 2035. The state government will not close any school, even if there is only one child studying in it.

School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, stated this today at a programme organized by Samagra Shiksha at the Chief Minister's residence to mark Uttarakhand attaining the status of a fully literate state.
