Dehradun, Dec. 23 -- The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Allied Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), Shillong, organised a Road Safety Seminar aimed at raising awareness about the rising incidence of road traffic accidents, particularly in the North-Eastern region.

Addressing the gathering, Padma Shri awardee Prof Dr BKS Sanjay, President of AIIMS Guwahati, expressed serious concern over the growing number of road accidents in India, including Meghalaya.

He highlighted that nearly 90% of road accidents result from human negligence and are largely preventable.
