Dehradun/Muzaffarnagar, 30 Jun: After a prolonged legal battle spanning nearly three decades, the CBI court in Muzaffarnagar delivered its verdict in a case related to the Uttarakhand movement. The court convicted Brij Kishore, Anil Kumar and Umesh Chandra under sections 120B, 182, 211 and 218 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with section 25 of the Arms Act, sentencing them to one and a half years of imprisonment and imposing a fine of Rs 5,000.
The prosecution was effectively pursued by Dhara Singh Meena on behalf of the CBI, advocate Anshu Chaudhary representing the Uttarakhand Sangharsh Samiti, and senior prosecution officer Rink Verma on behalf of the Uttarakhand government. The case had rem...
