Dehradun, 7 Aug: The Uttarakhand government is actively carrying out rescue and relief work in the disaster-affected areas of Dharali, Harsil, and Gangotri in Uttarkashi district. The government, with the help of the Air Force, ITBP, NDRF, and other teams, is rescuing them using Chinook and MI-17 helicopters.
So far, 70 people have been safely brought to Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun. According to the State Disaster Management Authority, a total of 274 people have been brought safely to Harsil from Gangotri and nearby areas. These include pilgrims from different states.
Out of these, 135 people have been taken to safer places, while 100 were sent to Uttarkashi and 35 to Dehradun.
