Govindghat, 6 Apr: Indian Army jawans along with Sewadars of the Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust jointly conducted a recce of the trek route from Govindghat to Shri Hemkunt Sahib on 5 April.

During the recce, it was observed that there is approximately five to six feet of snow at Shri Hemkunt Sahib. Enroute, a significant amount of snow was also found at the Atlakoti Glacier Point.

The positive aspect is that the fresh snow which fell during the last ten days will melt easily if the coming days are sunny. This will facilitate clearing the trek route and starting the yatra smoothly.
