Anniversaries are an occasion for self-appraisal. And, if the numbers have been running up, for reappraisal! The Garhwal Post has entered its twenty-first year as a daily. Earlier, it was a weekly for a decade, creating space in a city and a region where the 'intelligentsia'-quotient was high and the economy not so much. As our tagline goes - "For Tomorrow's People" - it was a stage of preparation for the future. As a daily it took a crucial step forward towards functioning as a media platform that needed to hold its own in changing times - preserving the quality of the past and anticipating social, economic, literary and political developments in the coming times.
