Dehradun, 28 Aug: Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Minister Madan Kaushik has stated that, in view of the fact that Uttarakhand is a disaster-prone state, the government is working with full seriousness to reduce potential risks. He added that drawing lessons from the recent disaster in Nepal, monitoring arrangements for glacier lakes, rivers and other sensitive areas in the state are being further strengthened. It may also be recalled that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also issued directions to all the departments concerned to ensure proper monitoring of the sensitive and vulnerable glaciers and install the advance early warning systems.
