Dehradun, July 25 -- The 2026 Commonwealth Games-frequently likened to a scaled-down Olympics-are currently taking place in Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow stepped in as the host city after the Australian state of Victoria withdrew due to escalating cost concerns. The Opening Ceremony will take place entirely indoors at the OVO Hydro on 23 July - late at night for Indians. The competitions will be held from 24 July to 2 August.

To drastically lower operational costs and keep the budget at roughly £150 million, all competitions are concentrated across four primary venues located within a tight, eight-mile geographic corridor.
