Liberia Justice Minister Calls for Stronger Oversight of Forest Finance at Global Forum
LONDON, April 15 -- Liberia's Minister of Justice and Attorney General, N. Oswald Tweh, has called for stronger global oversight of financial flows linked to forest resources, warning that weak governance enables illegal logging and environmental degradation.
Delivering a keynote address Tuesday at the FGMC Stakeholder Forum 2026 in London, Tweh emphasized that sustainable forest management cannot be achieved without accountability in how money flows through the sector. The forum, hosted by the Government of the United Kingdom, brought together more than 70 delegates from forest-rich countries and international partners.
