Monrovia, Sept. 3 -- Former President George Manneh Weah has arrived at the Monrovia Central Prison to visit former Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor, who is being held on pretrial detention in connection with the government's US$317 million cocaine investigation.

Taylor is facing several charges, including drug trafficking and money laundering. She has denied the allegations.

Weah arrived in Liberia Wednesday evening to a rousing welcome from supporters after spending several months abroad. Speaking shortly after his return, the former president condemned the charges against his former vice president, describing them as "bogus," and promised to visit her at the prison.
