Monrovia, Sept. 23 -- The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) is stepping up its war on drugs with a combination of bold seizures, internal purges and sweeping reforms.

On Monday, the agency announced the confiscation of nearly two tons of compressed marijuana in Montserrado County, the dismissal of several officers for drug abuse, and the recall of its entire Roberts International Airport (RIA) unit over misconduct concerns.

According to the Officer-In-Charge Fitzgerald Biago, the major operation took place on September 18, 2025 in District #17, Brewerville, Montserrado County following what he described as "carefully coordinated intelligence."
