Liberia, May 1 -- The Sustainable Development Institute (SDI) has on behalf of Nitrain Community Forest Management Body (NCFMB) filed a formal complaint with the Environmental Protection Agency of Liberia, accusing Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) of widespread environmental destruction and human rights abuses.

The complaint, submitted by SDI on Thursday, April 30, 2026, calls for an immediate investigation into the company's operations in southeastern Liberia.
