Liberia, April 30 -- The California State Assembly has formally recognized Liberian human rights advocate Adama Kiatamba Dempster for his exceptional contributions to global human rights, peacebuilding, and justice.

During an official floor session held April 27, 2026, at the California State Capitol, lawmakers honored Dempster for more than 18 years of dedicated service in promoting transitional justice, strengthening democratic institutions, and advancing accountability in Liberia and internationally.

The recognition followed the recommendation of Dr. Jamila Land, a prominent advocate for criminal justice reform and community empowerment.
