COLOMBO, June 3 -- The Court of Appeal on Wednesday (3) granted leave to proceed with a revision application filed by Yoshitha Rajapaksa, challenging a Colombo High Court order that allowed a conspiracy charge against him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act to move forward.

A bench of Appeal Court judges fixed the application for hearing on June 16 after hearing extensive submissions from both parties and conducting a detailed review of the matter.

The application seeks to overturn a previous ruling by the Colombo High Court, which held that the conspiracy charge pending against Rajapaksa could proceed to trial.
