COLOMBO, April 27 -- The US Embassy in Sri Lanka marked the 15th anniversary of American Corner Jaffna on Sunday (26), celebrating its role in connecting communities in Northern Sri Lanka with the United States through education, innovation and cultural exchange.
The embassy also inaugurated the new Freedom 250 Pavilion at the centre as part of the global Freedom 250 initiative commemorating 250 years of American independence.
Established in 2011 in partnership with the Jaffna Social Action Centre, American Corner Jaffna was launched during the post-conflict period as a platform to engage youth and local communities in Northern Sri Lanka through programs focused on critical thinking, leadership, English language learning and innovation....
